Vayu Purana says, among the sources of learning ,the Vedas are supreme; in the Vedas, Rudra Ekadasi is supreme; in the Rudra Ekadasi the “Pancaksharimantra Namasivaya” is supreme; in the “Namasivaya” mantra the two letters “Siva” stand supreme. In the Yajur Veda, Sri Rudra consists of the chapters Namakam (5) Lord Siva is worshiped with "namah" & Chamakam is worshiped with "cha me". The hymn of Lord Siva, the Sri Rudra is worshiped in 100 forms and 100 times. Thus, Sri Rudra is said as "Sada Rudra".
